Why EP at home for osteoporosis
An exercise physiologist supervises graded exercise in the home. Themes can include strength, posture awareness, and balance practice, as clinically appropriate. There is no one-size programme. Screening is individual.
The service page is exercise physiology at home. If balance and falls are the main worry, read falls prevention at home. If you are unsure whether to start with physiotherapy, read physio first, then exercise physiology.
Safety first
Medical history, fracture history, and any precautions from your clinicians matter before exercise progresses. This is not emergency care. It is not a substitute for your GP, endocrinology review, or bone-density follow-up.
We don't publish exercise loading protocols here, and we don't promise a change in bone density.
How EP and physio can work together
This page is led by exercise physiology. Physio at home is the better start when pain, acute mobility, or rehabilitation after a fracture is the main concern.
Joint stiffness is covered in arthritis physio at home.
What a home EP visit involves
Assessment and goal setting at home. Graded exercises with technique coaching. Wherever possible, the same clinician continues. Session details, and who will visit, are confirmed on the planning call.
Funding pointers
Alera Healthcare is an associated Support at Home provider, working alongside registered providers. We also see DVA clients where eligible, and private-paying clients and families. See funding for home EP and DVA physio and EP at home. We do not offer occupational therapy or NDIS services. Fees are confirmed on the call rather than listed as a fixed price. Areas are on Sydney Metro home visits.

Frequently asked questions
Can an exercise physiologist help with osteoporosis at home?
Yes. Alera Healthcare exercise physiologists visit Sydney Metro clients for supervised, graded exercise programmes that may support strength and balance goals. Suitability depends on your health history. Confirm on a 15-minute call.
Is strength training safe if I have osteoporosis?
Suitable strength work is often recommended in osteoporosis care guidelines, but the right type and dose are individual. An exercise physiologist assesses precautions before progressing. This page is not personal medical advice.
Will home EP increase my bone density?
We do not guarantee changes in bone density or fracture risk. Programmes aim to support safe movement and strength goals. Discuss medical monitoring with your GP or specialist.
When should I see a physiotherapist instead?
Physiotherapy may lead if pain, recent fracture rehabilitation, or acute mobility problems are the main concern. We can help you choose on a 15-minute call.
Does Support at Home or DVA cover osteoporosis EP with Alera?
Funding pathways vary. Alera is an associated Support at Home provider. DVA may apply where eligible. Confirm entitlements on a 15-minute call. The wider picture is on our funding page.
How do I book osteoporosis exercise physiology at home?
Book a 15-minute call via the bookings page, or phone 040 55 77 555. We aim to respond within one working day. The call is planning only, not a treatment session.
