Frequently asked questions

What allied health services does Alera provide at home?
In-home physiotherapy and exercise physiology only. Alera does not offer occupational therapy. Clinicians visit older adults at home, in an aged care residence, or at another agreed location across Sydney Metro.
Who can arrange physiotherapy or exercise physiology with Alera?
Families and private clients can enquire directly. We also see DVA clients where eligible. Under Support at Home we work as an associated provider alongside the registered provider who holds the funding.
Do I need a referral for home physio or EP?
No. Clients or family can enquire online or call 040 55 77 555, and no GP referral is needed. Support at Home coordinators and discharge planners can refer via the referrals page. We confirm suitability on a 15-minute call.
What is the difference between physiotherapy and exercise physiology?
Physiotherapy focuses on injury, pain, mobility, and rehabilitation. Exercise physiology uses tailored exercise for chronic conditions and functional fitness. Many seniors use one or both over time.
How do I choose between physio and EP?
Book a 15-minute call. We map goals and suggest the better starting service. The call is planning only, not a treatment session.

Planning call to map needs and suitability. It is not a treatment session.
